Victoria Hospital is one of the strongest centers of clinical cancer research in Romania. With active participation since 2001 in over 80 clinical trials on Phase II and Phase III cancers (with therapeutic benefits for the patients). Victoria Hospital has close cooperation with major multinational pharmaceutical companies, often completed with the publication of various studies at international congresses, published articles in prestigious journals or approval of many innovative drugs in oncology by the FDA or EMEA.
Victoria Hospital (previous names: Center of Medical Oncology, Oncology Center Euroclinic) has had numerous collaborations with pharmaceutical companies such as Hoffman La Roche, Fresenius, Bristol Mzers Squibb, Lilly, Pfizer, Teva, Boehringer Ingelheim, Avigenix , Merck, Sonus Pharm., Mayne-Pliva Pharm, BioGenerix, Johnson & Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Glaxo-Smithkline, Grunenthal, Synta Pharm, Amgen, Bayer Healthcare AG, Sandoz AG, Gennentech, MediGene, Hexal AG, Eisai, Sosa , Onyx, etc.
Clinical research conducted at Victoria Hospital granted great benefits to its cancer patients through access to modern drugs.
Also, Victoria Hospital, through participating in these clinical studies, cut costs for The Health Insurance Houses budget through the fact that investigations and some of the drugs used in cancer treatment were paid by the companies that own the studied drugs.
The clinical trials conducted in Victoria Hospital are under the supervision of the National Medicines Agency of Romania, National Ethics Commission of the Romanian Academy and other international bodies (FDA, EMEA).
